The pay part is pretty straight forward. North Carolina makes it incredibly easy for you to pay most traffic tickets. In fact, a link is provided right there on the North Carolina Courts home page where you can go and enter payment online at payNCticket.org. You simply pay the ticket and aren’t bothered with the hassle of going to court or the expense of hiring an attorney.
But BEWARE; paying the ticket is the same as pleading guilty and the consequences can be costly.
So you get to pay and waive that annoying court appearance. However, you are also waiving your constitutional right to confront witnesses, have a trial or hearing and have an attorney represent you. This can be very costly and may result in an increase to your insurance premiums, points on your license and possible revocation of your driving privileges.
You should consult with an attorney to determine what your options are.In many cases, the attorney may appear for you and you will not have to go to court.Call our office to set up an appointment to speak with an attorney about your case.
